The Eye
The eye tissue communicates with the brain via the optic nerve.
Tissue
Ectoderm and mesoderm are forms of embryonic tissues that form the eye.
Optic Nerve
The optic nerve is not really a nerve but an extension of the brain.
Function
The eyesight vision function, works by a light no bigger than a pinhole, picking up an object within the eye sight vision and strikes the cornea, it then passes down the to the pupil that cuts down the beam.
Crystalline
A crystalline lens inside the eye performs the focusing, enabling the eye sight vision to pick up images.
The Eye Sight Vision Picking Up Clear Image
The image is then put on the retina as a picture of the object in the eye sight vision.
Electrical Charges
This image is then translated into electrical charges and sent tot the brain.
Brain
The brain then takes this image and makes sense of it.
Smaller Nerves
When nerve fibres converge together to the optic nerve it is called a blind spot.
Blind Spot
A blind spot will not interfere with the overall visual picture, the brain will automatically fill any missing spaces.
Most People
Most people have perfectly focused eye sight and strong vision.
Eye Sight Vision
The focus has only a few central degrees of vision, the rest is out of focus.

The optician will check that the eye is focusing normally.

The muscles will also be checked to make sure the movement is working properly as a well matched pair.
Babies
A possible squint should be checked when a child is first born or still an infant.
Working
If the eyes do not work in unison, this should be corrected very quickly.

If this problem is not treated and left to it self it could cause the eye sight to go blind.

Checking Eye Sight in School
It is advisable to have children’s eyes sight, checked when in nursery school.

It your child starts to show suspect symptoms, it may be a warning sign that your child’s eye sight needs testing.
No Glasses
A good percentage of people can go through their teens and into adult hood, without the need for glasses.
Most Cases
If the vision remains stable glasses will not be needed, till later in life around forty years.

Testing the eyes should be done at the age of forty plus so the treatment of cataracts or glaucoma is detected at the early stages it will help with the loss or impaired sight
