Gaining and Aging Process

Gaining Weight and Ageing

Factor
Grey hair, wrinkles, weight gain, are all factors of the ageing process

Women
Most women gain weight every decade of their life, usually starting at the age of twenty

Why
In women around their mid twenties start working or raising a family leaving less time for activity

Sitting
As there is less time for activity, women in their jobs or family routine are confined to sitting more

Hips and Thighs
Sitting is one of the greatest fat gains, especially to the hips and thighs

Pregnant
Women tend to get pregnant in the twenties and thirties; unfortunately this is one of the few times that the women’s body can produce more fat cells

Cells
Unfortunately for women during pregnancy, the fat cell that are produced will always remain

Gaining Weight
Continuing gaining weight through the years, but not as quickly, as reaching our forties, the body’s metabolism start to work at a much slower rate

Muscles
As a result of this lack of activity the muscles are no longer strong, and can not burn the calories that are needed

Burning Calories
The muscles are one of the most important functions in the body for burning calories

Metabolism
When women start to reach the menopause, hormones, oestrogen and progesterone can slow the metabolism down at an even slower rate

Abdomen
Around the age of fifty and sixty years our metabolism is so slow, that it can make us gain weight in the abdomen

Weight Gain
The weight gaining process will start to slow down as we reach our fifties through to our old age,

Appetite
As we reach our fifties to sixties we can loose our appetite, and may loose weight

Loosing Weight
Do not worry if you start to loose weight in you sixties, loosing weight is a common factor

Habits
Weight loss or gain will depend on each individual and depending on their lifestyle

Personal
You personal level of fitness and eating habits are a great factor to gaining or loosing weight

Abdominal
Abdominal fat is more metabolic active than the fat on the hips or thighs

Breaks Down
The abdominal fat cells in the accumulate faster but will break down faster than the hip or thighs

Women
Because most women store the fat in their thighs and hips, it tends to give them a pear shape

Apple
Other women and men who store their fat in the abdomen have an apple shape

Fat
Abdominal fat is also called visceral fat, this is a harder fat that is not soft or flabby

Visceral Fat
Visceral at is a type of fat that is associated with diseases like diabetes, or high blood pressure

Advice
Try to stay as active as possible through out the years, and concentrate on eating a healthy diet, drinking plenty of water, physical exercise where possible helps to maintain the weight and slows down the ageing process,   giving you a longer life.
