Keeping you pet happy in a car
Some pets love to jump in the car and go for a ride; others just are not the travelling kind

Sickness
If  you’re pet gets sick when travelling here are a few tips to make the journey more comfortable for every one.

Feeding Your Pet
If you know that you are going somewhere and you intend to take your pet on this trip, make sure you limit your pet’s intake of food, do not feed your pet at least five hours before going on your journey.

Smaller Portion
If you have to feed your pet then give them a much smaller portion rather than normal size, this will help your pet.

Feeling Queasy
If you have just fed your pet it is more likely to feel queasy in the car.

Empty Stomach
Like wise other pets can become nauseous on an empty stomach.

Know Your Pet
You know your pet better than any one else so you must feed your pet accordingly.

Long Journey
Travelling a long distance make sure you stop often enough for your pet especially a dog to stretch its legs and go to the bathroom.

Looking Out Of The Window
Most animals when travelling especially dogs love to gaze out of the windows.

Caution
Remember to keep the windows slightly open so your pet can get enough fresh air but make sure the windows are only open slightly as if to far wound down your pet could hang out and this then becomes very dangerous.

Plenty of Fresh Air
Making sure you pet has plenty of fresh air lessened the chance of your pet becoming sick in the car and vomit?

Driving Carefully
Drive your car carefully and slowly, take turns a little slower than normal, speed and curves will make your pet anxious as well as nauseous.
Making Your Pet Comfortable
You will want to make your pet comfortable on the journey not nervous.

Motion Sickness
Animals can suffer from motion sickness like people, so try to take it slowly and easy to avoid dealing with a sick pet and a messy smelly vehicle.

Consulting Your Vet
If your pet suffers severe motion sickness consult your local vet and he or she will prescribe medication.

Helping Your Pet
Helping your pet get used to the regular journeys in the car, take your pet on frequent trips even if its only down the road then gradually increase the length of time your pet spends in the vehicle

Travelling Within The Law
Make sure your pet is travelling within the law, properly secure by purchasing carriers and portable kennels that will buckle into seat belts.

Rewarding Your Pet
A very good tip is to reward your pet with a treat for good behaviour in the vehicle.
