Cosmetic Plastic Surgery on the Upper Eyelids - The common name for Cosmetic Surgery on the eyelids is know as blepharoplasty.
The ageing process can disfigure the face, eye bags and the eyelids
The Upper Eyelid has excess skin that hangs down over the eye and the Eye Lashes
In some cases the skin can hang over the eye so severely that the eye can become closed
This excess skin is as noticeable as we age, especially if the lower lids contain fat that is under the skin forming eye bags
The eyes are one of the main facial features, and are usually noticeable at the first glance
Also with the ageing process the outer skin forms Lines and Wrinkles, some of these are known as crow’s feet
With all this gives an image of tired, drooping and a haunted look that gives the feeling of age
The procedure which is for the upper lids will not alter the eye bags or crow’s feet
The actual surgery is combined with laser will eliminate the crow’s feet and eye bags
Removing the upper eye lids hanging loose skin can be preformed under a local anaesthetic
The procedure consists of a small incision along The Eye Fold, in the shape of an upside down letter D
The excess skin is removed and the skin is then closed using very small and fine stitches
The stitches will need to be removed after three days
There will be some swelling and bruising, but plenty of rest and ice packs for the first few days will soon settle this down
There will be no visible scarring as the incision is made along the natural fold of the eyelid
The Operation takes around two hours; this will depend on the type of surgery and the individual
The Patient will be able to go home after the procedure.
No dressing is required but sun glasses are recommended.
