Youth
Youth is a most wonderful gift that life has given to us

Hormones
Apart from acting on specific parts as the breast and ovaries, the hormones produced at puberty can affect most glands and organs

The Eye
The eye can expand as the apocrine gland starts to function; the sebaceous gland which lays dormant enlarges as it increases its output

Long-sightedness
The result of these glands working together can produce long-sightedness

Perspire
The body can experience a change in perspiring in many different ways

Smell
The body’s sweat glands change leaving the neutral smell of childhood from the individual one of adulthood

Oiliness
As these glands change the body can increase its oiliness

Acne
Acne can be a major problem through puberty

Medical
Severe acne can be treated by prescribed drugs, while milder acne can be treated by medicated soap and using a solvent lotion

Lotions
There is a vast mount of medication for acne, but those containing retinoic acid or benzoyl peroxide are particularly good

Tips for Oily Skin
Oily skin is one of the most major problems in puberty; try to avoid covering up this condition with make-up,

Pores
Using make-up to try to hide the oily skin can cause more problems as the make-up will only clog the pores

Camouflage

If there are areas that need camouflaging, use a recommended concealer stick and apply to the area with a fine brush

Astringent or Antiseptic
Best result for a pimple or spot is to use an astringent or antiseptic lotion they help dry out the infected area

Matt Camouflage
If a lot of camouflage is needed, it is recommended that a matt medicated foundation is used

Powder
When using the medicated foundation, a light powder if used will help prevent that oily shine come through

T.Zone
Try to focus on the t-zone of the face where the sebaceous glands are

Apply Powder
Apply the powder to the centre of the face moving slowly outwards and pressing
Firmly
Concentrate on the forehead, chin, and neck if needed
