Information On Blackheads and Pimples
Pimples and  blackheads are normally caused by the sebaceous gland when it produces sebum.
Pimples or blackheads will result in a blockage of the skins pore.
When this blockage takes place it produces a blackheads and pimples some pustule or papule.
Some blackheads or pimples may become infected and may become itchy and painful.
The body produces sebum from the sebaceous glands
The outer layers of skin shed dead skin cells, sometimes these dead cells that would normally fall off the body get left on the skin.

When these cells that are still left on the skin they get glued together by the sebum.
These cells that get glued together block the pore and as the sebaceous gland keeps producing sebum it pushes against the already block pore, as it has no where else to go it forms a lump blackhead or pimple.

During puberty the skin can become thicker that’s why a blackheads - pimples and acne is more common in teenagers going through puberty

When the sebum builds up under the blocked pore, it can harbour various bacteria, including the species propionibacterium acnes.

The blackhead as we commonly know it, has the medical name as an open comedo.
These Coedones have a yellowish or black lump or plug on top of the skin.
This type of lump that we call a blackhead is a type of acne vulgaris.

The cause of  blackheads is the excess oils that have accumulated in the sebaceous glands duct.
The accumulated oils blocking the pores contain a substance, mostly consisting of keratin and modified sebum, which is an oily secretion from the sebaceous gland.
When the oily substance gets dirty it will darken black head.
There are medical treatments for a pimples and blackheads, one of the most common are benzoyl and peroxide, both of these medications come in creams or gel and are also used for acne.
Both these medications keep acne-blackhead- pimples under control.

Some people remove  blackheads by using a pen, removing the biro, and using the tube and pressing the open end of the pen over the pimple or blackhead and twisting the pen from left to right, this usually will pop the pimple or blackhead with out causing damage to the skin like squeezing, after the blackhead has popped place an ice cube over the area to help the hole close up quicker.
You can purchase blackhead pens from the chemist.
